| So I got up pretty early this morning to get my check done. The closest place was "16 Min Smog" in West LA. They opened at 8, which would give me enough time to get it done and get to work. I should've just stayed in bed, considering they didn't know what they were doing. First off, I parked the car next to the guy who would eventually do my smog. He was getting some shut eye in his car. I left my car running next to him to make sure it stayed warm. He looked pretty shady, but I pushed that aside and decided to go on with it. Here are the mistakes they made that eventually led to the abort: (1) They didn't know how to drive the Z properly. The guy stalled and rev'ed the heck out of the engine just getting it onto the dyno for the test. (2) The guy asked me, "Hey, where are the cats?" And I replied, "They're halfway down the car right underneath." (3) The guy could not find valid evidence that my exhaust configuration was correct: "You have two cats. You're supposed to only have one." I looked at his references and they were for pre-90 300ZXs. (4) He said, "It would have failed anyway." So after 16 minutes of looking at the car, I left. For reference, the place is: 16 Minute Smog 11825 Santa Monica Blvd Los Angeles, CA "We Smog Anything"
